Clown TV

The clown on the left thought we shouldn’t have won. Somehow scoring more goals than the other team doesn’t count, it’s some sort of aesthetic dance-off apparently. It’s just not right, is it Mike. The clown on the right said we returned to the top of the league that we had led for six weeks previously. Clown. It’s been nine, and we were second last week only by dint of goal difference, but dont let that get in the way of a beat-up masquerading as an analysis. Wait a second, what’s your full time job? Covering the A-league. Hmmm. This from the bloke who has just brought you an “facts-based” analysis of Australian football development pathways. He also called our 20 times in their penalty area versus their 13 in ours “roughly the same” due to them playing with ten men. That’s rather quantum of you Andy, don’t give up your day job…oh, hold on, that is your day job.
Good to see Sasho take one for the team at the death too. God knows we really would have got done (as we had against Queensland in the Pre-season Cup or against Victory at Telstra Dome last year) if they had gone down to nine and we were still at full strength. In a world as superstitous as football, I wouldn’t have put it past Merrick to get Keenan sent off just to fuck with our minds, and it nearly worked. Nearly, but not quite. Sasho laughing at his red said it all. Goodbye hoodoo. Sometimes the best revenge is playing badly, and still winning. Suck on that lemon boys.

Possibly the best blog post on Australia football.
That is absolutely fantastic.
Great work, I’m going to post it far and wide.
Excellent post although I can’t necessarily agree with your sentiments on the game. I also think you may have an unnatural obsession with clowns (Joel Griffiths post - which was also hilarious). Keep up the good work.
